Quote of the day

Brian Howell captures it.

The Daily Times-Call reporter caught the truth, and you know how I like that.

"While it may seem easier to face the Sooners without (injured OU back Adrian) Peterson, CU head coach Dan Hawkins warned Saturday the Buffs shouldn’t get too excited.

“They’ll have other guys,” Hawkins said. “It’s Oklahoma, and they’ve got guys.”

That's right, "they've got guys." Good stuff. Something many should remember. The hysteria of Saturday's back-alley whipping of Texas Tech still fresh might have a legion of fans thinking the Sooners are Buffs' bait but OU is still OU, which means decorated recruiting classes, accomplished coaching, and home-field advantage.

That said, if CU can weather the early part of the game in Norman, they might be able to hang for a while with the Sooners. Winning is a longshot but Oklahoma still has to play the game.

One day, hopefully soon, some opposing coach will say of the black and gold, "It's Colorado, and they've got guys."
