Quick-hit end-game Buffs banter

Colorado's offense showed some juice in the second half, one it's better performances of the season.

That said, mistakes again killed the team. Turnovers, failing to jam the ball into the end zone and coming away scoreless when the ball was inside the five-yard line all proved critical.

Jordy Nelson? Thought that was Jerry Rice cruising towards six points on a short pass that was a big emotional crusher for CU and big lift for Kansas State.

Bernard Jackson has skills do doubt, you see exciting potential but still he makes too many mistakes. While his receivers scare no one, Jackson's scattershot arm and misreads remain an issue.

The Buffs ran the ball well in stretches, just not enough where they can count on it when necessary.

Dan Hawkins knows what's he doing refortifying the offense line with recruiting. That is the key to significant offensive improvement. The receivers are still missing in the class.

Look for bigger backs to become part of the offensive equation next season.

K-State is going to be real good. Josh Freeman is a difference maker at quarterback and Leon Patton and James Johnson are a good one-two punch.

What a long season.
