No doubts, Aggies dominant, can't-miss clips

The cream is rising to the top.

Texas A & M is the real deal and Billy Gillispie is the artist creating the magic down College Station way. The sixth-ranked Aggies most recent example of conference supremacy was a wild 100-82 rout of visiting Texas, proving that teamwork beats talent, whether a truck full of it in Lawrence or a soon-to-be NBA All Star in Austin.

The Longhorns can score but they didn't know A & M can too. They found out, as most losers do, the hard way, as the Aggies hit 51 percent from the field, 48 percent from 3-point range, whipped UT on the boards (42-30) and passed the Horns dizzy (29 assists).

A clinic.

Texas simply got schooled.

Give Kevin Durant his 28 points and 15 rebounds, D.J. Augustin his 23 points and nine assists, A & M simply wanted another win bagged.

Sophomore Josh Carter had his signature game with 24 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in a coming-out party (how do you like me now!), Acie Law demanded All-American votes with 21 points and 15 assists (making some NBA money in the process), and big man Antanas Kavaliauskas showed some rare mettle on the boards (11 rebounds) to go with his 18 points.

Black and Gold Truth: This space has been trumpeting the Aggies as the best in the conference for a couple of weeks and a top-4 power, nationally, as well. Now, they might be a supernova and flame out early come March but as of now, they are hard, as in rock solid, mean and lean, bustin' teams up. Gillispie is the hottest of hot names amongst rising coaches. Life is good for Aggies and their followers. Texas, meanwhile, is candy, as in, everyone loves what they do, how can you not, but they are not of much significance. They fly by the seat of their pants and will go down the same way.

Clips

If you haven't already seen the clips on super-recruit Noel Devine, a Florida prep running back, you have to take a look here. Have to.

(just scroll halfway down the page and look to your right)

The testimonials on this player are amazing and after watching just one clip, I was awestruck.

What caught my eye was the explosion through the hole, the full-speed at which he seemingly plays at all times, the endurance and for his Mini Cooper body, he breaks an inordinate amount of tackles.

Looks so much like Reggie Bush did as a prep, but much smaller. Devine might not have the same voluminous impact Bush did, if he even makes it academically, but the bottle rocket can leave you breathless with his talent.

Where this cat ends up, who knows, but WOW.

Note: Will go back in time to bring you some Chris Dempsey good stuff by mid-week. A former CU beat writer now covering the Denver Nuggets for the Denver Post, he and I spoke Monday about the Nuggets, the NBA and Buffs' basketball. Look for that conversation here.

The interview with CU athletic director Mike Bohn has been rescheduled due to personal family reasons and AD department priorities and might not be available until next week. Hang tight on board and the BGT will bring it to you soon.
